Retired Marine Corps Gen. Michael W. Hagee Appointed to Bushmaster Firearms International, LLC Board of Directors

April 9th, 2007 - WINDHAM,MAINE - Bushmaster Firearms International, LLC announced, that Gen. Michael W. Hagee, who retired early this year after serving as the 33rd Commandant of the Marine Corps, has joined Bushmaster’s Board of Directors.

“As we continue to grow and expand our product offerings and serve markets around the globe, General Hagee’s strategic experiences, leadership skills and wide-ranging expertise will help to guide us as Bushmaster evolves to meet the needs of our customers worldwide,” said John DeSantis, CEO of Bushmaster.

Gen. Hagee retired from the Marine Corps as Commandant in January 2007 following a distinguished 39-year military career. His command assignments included Commanding General of the 1st Marine Division and of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. He served as Marine Commandant from January 2003 through November 2006. His staff assignments included serving as Senior Military Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense; Executive Assistant to the Director of Central Intelligence; Deputy Director of Operations, Headquarters, of the U.S. European Command; and Director Strategic Plans and Policy, U.S. Pacific Command. Gen. Hagee graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He also holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He is a graduate of the Command and Staff College and the U.S. Naval War College.
